Summary:

Except for any event that results from patient movement or interference, a CT or X-Ray facility shall report any instance of accidental or overexposure to radiation. The facility shall report the event to the State Department of Health Services and the referring physician of the patient either within 5 or 10 business days, depending on the circumstances of the incident (i.e., certain instances must be reported within 5 days, and others must be reported within 10 days); and shall provide written notice to the person subject to the event within 15 days.

Summary:

Clients of tattoo parlors and other body art facilities must complete and sign a medical questionnaire that includes whether the client may be pregnant, history of herpes infection, medications, and risk factors for bloodborne pathogen exposure. All information gathered from the client that is personal medical information and subject to the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) or similar state laws shall be maintained or disposed of in compliance with those provisions.
